Why I’m Starting ‘Being Honest’ – My Journey Pivoting from Tech

After 20 years in tech, I'm pivoting toward helping others find clarity and balance. Being Honest is my platform to share real-life insights on career transitions and personal growth. Join me on this journey through honest reflections, practical advice, and new perspectives.

For over 20 years, my life has been deeply intertwined with technology. I’ve chased innovation, adapted to rapid changes, and solved complex problems. But as rewarding as that journey has been, it’s also been exhausting. The constant need to stay ahead, to learn and relearn, left me feeling drained. I began to question what I was truly passionate about—what gave me a sense of fulfillment beyond the technical challenges.

That’s where Being Honest comes in. I created this platform to share my honest reflections on life, work, and the transitions we all face at one point or another. After two decades in tech, I’m making a pivot—not just in my career, but in how I approach life. I’m moving away from the fast-paced, ever-changing world of tech to focus on something I’ve come to value even more: helping others find clarity and balance in their own journeys.

Empowering people to achieve their goals is something I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s with friends, family, partners, or co-workers, I’ve always wanted to be there to help bring out the best in them. Of course, I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, all while learning what it truly means to be human.

This blog is the beginning of that shift. Through Being Honest, I hope to connect with those who, like me, are navigating their own transitions, whether in their careers, personal lives, or simply in the way they view success. My goal is to offer real, grounded advice drawn from my own experiences—lessons learned from both the successes and challenges I’ve faced.

This journey isn’t going to be short, and I’m in no hurry. It may never truly end—it's not a race, but a marathon, and I’m fully committed to seeing it through. Does this mean I’m leaving tech forever? I don’t think so. I’ll continue leading ExyData, working with my current clients, seeking new ones at a different pace, and launching SSL Guardian, which is a work in progress I plan to release between Q3 2024 and Q1 2025.

I’m excited for this new path and admittedly a bit scared of the unknown, but I’m ready to take a leap of faith and see what’s on the other side of the fence.

The blog is just the start. I’m also launching a podcast where I’ll likely explore the same topics as the blog, but in a more dynamic, audio-visual format.

What’s the plan?

The plan is to release a new blog post every Wednesday and a new podcast episode on Monday and Friday mornings. The Friday episode will feature a mix of meditation and mindset tips to help you kick off the weekend on a positive note.

I’m also planning to offer a subscription to the blog, giving you access to exclusive content and one-on-one sessions where I can provide a fresh perspective on whatever challenges you’re facing.

To conclude:

Thank you so much for reading up to this point. I hope this new project brings you value, learning, and maybe even some laughs along the way.

Last but not least, I invite you to connect with me on LinkedIn and X (Twitter).
